Thortons Convenience Store
Spectrio helped Thorntons save time and money while introducing the benefits of Digital Menu Boards to their locations.
The Issue
Prior to using Spectrio, Thorntons Convenience Stores was using a clunky digital signage system that didn’t allow them to easily swap out content or see the health of each player in the store. They also wanted to promote their in-store food offerings, and had no way of showcasing new menu items or displaying different items in different locations.
The Spectrio Soluton
Spectrio helped Thorntons transition to a fully digital menu board program, which allowed them to bring content design in-house using our easy, intuitive content management system. We walked them through both best practices for both store layout and a content schedule, setting them up for success both before and after install. By incorporating video and animation into their layouts, each location is able to capture the attention of visitors walking by their Real Kitchens set up in the middle of the store, while promoting menu items and offers unique to that store. Spectrio’s CMS also allows quick visibility into the status and updates of each player.
Citizens Union Bank
Spectrio implemented an immersive and responsive customer experience for CUB while increasing their technology-forward focus.
The Issue
Citizen’s Union Bank was previously using Digital Signage from another provider, but started looking at their options while redesigning their in-branch customer experience. They found that they did not want to have to build that experience by themselves from scratch. As Ben Wathen, their SVP of Retail Banking, explained, “in the end, we wanted to have a single source for our in branch marketing technology and Spectrio offered us a clear difference from what we had been receiving. They helped us streamline vendor management, consolidate products and get pricing concessions because of the volume.”

Digital screens are placed strategically throughout their branches at points of transaction, guest waiting areas, and welcoming coffee stations. Ben’s team is able to display competitive rates, credit card offers, and information about their digital banking options in a sleek, engaging format with Spectrio’s signage.

Butler Machinery
Spectrio gave Butler Machinery a way to present their inventory in a user-friendly and accessible way no matter the location.
The Issue
Butler specializes in selling used equipment, but their extensive inventory for sale across nearly 20 locations creates a pain point. Agriculture workers throughout North and South Dakota understand how important having the right equipment is, and they’re willing to travel for that equipment. Butler’s website allows customers to browse all available inventory, but they were lacking a similar resource within their dealerships.
The Spectrio Solution
By partnering with Spectrio and installing interactive kiosks, customers can find equipment to fit all of their needs even if it’s located at a different Butler dealership. Butler started with one kiosk in Fargo and ordered six more shortly after other locations understood the value in showcasing their full inventory list. To maintain their reputation as a premier equipment dealer, Butler also attends at least one trade show each month. The kiosks eliminate any connectivity issues due to spotty wifi, allowing Butler to capture potential customer information and display updated inventory even when offline.
The Outcome
In two months, the Used Equipment app was opened over 350 times between two kiosks. Due to seasonality, Tractors 175 hp+ and Planters were the most viewed categories. This level of data enables the Butler marketing team to tailor their messaging based on customer engagement.
